Welcome to the group of Ryans from Doon! My gggrandfather, Timothy
O'Connor married Catherine Ryan in Cappamore, just a couple of miles
away. He had children baptised in Doon with his first wife, Judy
Fleming who died during the Famine. Timothy and Catherine emigrated to
Troy NY in 1864 and when my grandfather was baptised in 1878, his
godfather was Cornelius Ryan who also stood up for Timothy when he
became a citizen. I believe he was related to Catherine somehow.
If you go to my website and to my Co. Limerick subsection, you will find
baptism records from both Doon and Cappamore that I collected in 2001.
However, they are for O'Connors and Flemings but many other surnames are
mentioned as spouses and/or godparents.
