YOU GUYS are TERRIFIC!!

This is amazing!
YES, you are the experts and I definitely came to the right place!
Last night after I added the message with the link to this
list.......the replies came rolling in!!
Must have been well over a dozen!! More this morning!

The consensus of opinion is that this mystery town is PALLASKENRY. This
mystery was created by some poor clerk in New York City who never heard
of these Irish/English towns!! Never mind their correct spelling! He
was just writing down what he HEARD!
We've been there/done THAT before haven't we! Hah!
He was filling out a marriage certificate.....and I was lucky enough to
find the original along with the military records for James De St.
Legier in our National Archives! It's the ONLY record we have ever
found that says where he and his family came from!!

So this is a HUGE breakthrough!

You folks not only figured out the name of the town but you sent me
Google internet links to the town (it has a castle!!)....an Expedia.com
map showing exactly where it's located and a whole lot of fun comments.

Unbelievable!
You solved this mystery with great flourish!!
I never would have found it without all of you!
Special thanks to Pat for thinking to add the .jpg to her webpage. That
made it easier for you to actually SEE the mystery handwriting.
So my sincere gratitude to all of you for coming thru....Big Time!
(Now where do I go to find Protestant church records for Pallaskenry??
Haha!)
