Subject: [LMK] Roll Call: Hennessy/Donlin/Donnellan
Date: Thu, 5 Dec 2002 06:39:59 EST
According to my grandfather's death certificate, his mother was born in
County Limerick: Mary HENNESSY FITZGIBBON born 1845. Married Patrick
FITZGIBBON. They had at least six children (John, Martin, Margaret,
Catherine, Anne, and my grandfather Patrick Francis -- he was born in County
Clare). Mary came to the USA (Chicago) in 1890. She lived with her son
Patrick after the death of her husband in 1892. Mary died in January 1916 in
Logansport, Indiana, and is buried in Calvary Cemetery in Chicago with her
husband and two of their infant grandchildren (Mary B. DOOLING and James
PENDER). Her death record in Indiana lists her mother's name as Nora DONLIN,
but I think the spelling may have been phonetic, that the name should be
DONNELLAN. (I have reference in a 1940's letter written by my uncle in the
Marine Corp about a "cousin" Denny DONNELLAN, plus that DONNELLAN family who
lived near my uncle and mother's family signed the funeral home guest
register at my grandfather's funeral -- Steve, Mary and Denny DONNELLAN.)
