Sorry for the inadvertent click just now.
Kerry, I am descended from a Denis Collins, farmer, (not yet located) through
my great grandfather, Patrick Collins. Patrick's son James Patrick, my
maternal grandfather, travelled to NSW from Canada c1880, stayed as a teacher and
married here. He stated he himself had been born in Limerick.
I am aware of the c1829 births in Abbeyfeale of two infants named Patrick,
both sons of a Denis Collins, but with differenct mothers. Neither mother was an
Elizabeth.
There is also a well preserved gravestone in Mallow, Co Cork with the names
Dennis and Patrick Collins, though probably not mine.
All this for what it is worth.
Is there a death certificate available for Dennis Collins the convict? and
would it perhaps give the names of any other family members?
A long shot I know but perseverance is the name of the game.
Cheers --- Eleanor D (Sydney, NSW)
