Dear Listers,

I am new to the List and I am hoping SKS can point me in the right direction.

Patrick CORBETT was a g g grandfather of mine and was recorded as being born in Limerick c.1821. The exact location is unknown.

At the time of his death his father's name was recorded as Thomas.

Patrick was tried and convicted at the Cork June Sessions of 1837 for stealing money. His sentence was for 7 years transportation.

Patrick was transported aboard the vessel "William Jardine" which departed Dublin 28th December 1837 and arrived at Sydney 11th April 1838.

I have three questions please.
1. Is there a way of trying to locate the births of a Patrick CORBETT around the 1821 era?

2. Is it possible to find details of the trial at the Cork Sessions of 1837?

3. Is there a way to find if there was an appeal made on behalf of Patrick?

Many thanks for any assistance that may be given.
