Hello Everyone,

I did get a death date from the SS department. I had to write in to the
freedom of information officer to get the information. I wrote a letter
explaining that the man I wanted the information on was my grandfather and
that I could prove my relation to him as well as my mother would have. I
also put his parents names, birth and death information and every child they
had listed too.

I got back a very nice letter with a computer print out. Bottom line was I
did get his date of death not location of death as they do not keep that
information. The location on that record was where my grandfather applied
for his SS card back in the 1930's.

It was worth what I had to pay. I don't remember the cost off hand but I
think it was the $29.00. You would have to check that out though.
