Hello list, I was mildly surprised to see an O'Hare enquiry on the
Limerick list. Limerick isn't exactly known as O'Hare country. Griffith's
Valuation, < www.ireland. com/ancestor>, the genealogical site of the Irish Times
newspaper, shows that there were 571 O'Hare households in Ireland in mid-19th
century. The counties with the most O'Hares were Down 312, Armagh 120, and Louth
69. There were no O'Hares listed in Limerick. My O'Hares came from
Ballymascanlan in Louth and emigrated to Buffalo, N.Y., USA.

Researching Thomas SYNAN and Mary FOLEY who were married in Coolcappa,
Kilcolman, Limerick in 1835. In 1839 they had their first child while farming
in or near Belleville, Hastings County, Ontario, Canada. By 1851 they had
moved to Allegany County, New York where they farmed. Thomas and son Thomas
joined the US Army during the Civil War. Thomas was killed at Resaca, GA and son
Thomas wounded at Peachtree Creek, GA.
