I found this item in the PRO Catalog and hope someone can explain the
meaning of this transaction.
Scope and content:
Office of Public Works, Ireland. Release of forfeiture on lands owned
by Miss K. Heaphy at Newpark, Co. Limerick, under the Landlord and
Tenant (Ireland) Act 1870.
My Heaphy grgreats + eight children - the youngest about 9 - left
Newpark in Parish Effin about 1842-43. Matthew and Bridget Heafy are
each listed as occupiers in Griffith's so obviously members of the
extended family remained in Newpark.
Thanks for any information you can share about this or refer me to a
source for the information..
