Thanks for your answer Pádraig - it has helped me feel a bit more confident
that I have the right people. Taking another look at the 1871 British Census
for Poplar I notic ethere is another person living with Henry and Ellen. Her
name is Margaret McMahon and she is listed as "mother". Does this ring any
more bells with anyone. Perhaps Ellen was Ellen McMahon?
