Thank you Jane and Padraig for your replies. Yes, Padraig I believe they
would have been RC as these were Catholic records, and our family has
always remained Catholic.Interesting about the "am" being Latin. At one
point a few years back my daughter found something for my
greatgrandfather (on the other side)Maurice LANGAN and his name was the
Latin form, Mauritti. She has since misplaced it and we cannot find it
again. It would have had to have been a record of some sort from Ireland
as all here have his name as Maurice.I cannot remember now who sent me
the baptismal information so dont know where there information was
obtained. I know the children were baptized in Askeaton (1860's - 1875
or "76). Can you please tell me where I might look for these? Im fairly
new to researching and dont really know where to begin in Ireland. Now
the Bridget name thing really has mr stumped. My aunts middle name was
Bedelia, and my grandmother had a sister named Bedelia, but I dont know
why they would call Bridget "Bedelia" And I just keep getting more
confused LOL.
Thank you again, youve been most helpful.
