When we were in Ireland last summer, we found many old graves in the
cemetery at Elton and Knockainy; many of the stones were illegible, but
there were quite a few you could still read, some even older than the year
you mention, so yes, there could be a headstone. Do you know where he was
buried? If so, you could check with the cemeteries there to see.There are
quite a few transcriptions online , as well.
