My thoughts run too fast so I was not clear with my information. :-) :-)

I was actually referring to John Hannigan's father's family, that is, where
John was born. I had been told the family was from Kilfinnane, but I found
Hannigans recorded in Griffith's for the townland of Darragh. Since John was
living in Darragh when he married Mary Kenny, I have been thinking that
Darragh is possibly where the family originated. I have not done further
research on this family as my main focus is on John Hannigan's wife, Mary
Kenny, sister to my grandfather. I do have both civil birth records and
Baptismal records for the children of John and Mary who were born in
Darragh.

A similar story was told about my Kennys - that they were from Ballybrien.
Actually, they were from Knockadea. My ggrandfather's name is recorded in
Griffith's for Knockadea, and I was fortunate enough to visit Knockadea to
see where they lived before emigrating.
