I can't tell if there is a connection or not as I know nothing more
about the KEARNEYs than what I have already posted below.

Is the Thomas b1844 you mention a KEARNEY or a FITZMAURICE?

Hi Peter re Kearney surname I'm researching Ellen Kearney (Helen on marr
cert) who marr John O'Shea Ballingarry/Granagh 19 Feb. 1828. There are 2
churches in Ballingarry. registrar does not say which church it took
place in. The Witnesses were Richard Kearney and Helen Fitzmaurice.
Their siblings Bridget b1839 Thomas b1844 and my G Grnadfatoher John
b1846-7 No other children found in between 1828-1839. All these three
came to Victoria Australia c1854. John b1847 marr Mary Ann Ambrose 10
Feb 1877 Wangaratta Vic. As you mentioned Australia,can you see any

Hello All

I would very much appreciate some help in finding my maternal
grandfather's family.

All we know about him is as follows:

Christopher Thomas KEARNEY born Limerick 6 Jan 1883 or 1885, father
Thomas KEARNEY a boot maker. He had a sister Margaret married name
HEALY/HEALEY

Christopher emigrated to England and served in the East Yorkshire
Regiment for a time and met and married Edith Lucy JACKSON and they
resided in Hull, Yorkshire. They had two children Kathleen Mary (my
mother) and John. Edith died in 1927 and Christopher remarried in 1936
to Edith Ann BISHOP a widow, (nee HEMSWORTH).

He died in Keyingham, Yorkshire in 1956.

If there is anyone who would be willing to look up parish records for me
I would be happy to reciprocate with any research in Australia.
