Hi Roger,
Sorry, Limerick parish records, although filmed, are NOT available outside
of Ireland. If it's the Limerick diocese, there are records in Dublin which
can be viewed --- in person, or the heritage center (closed) If it's
Cashel-Emily (sp) diocese, there is nowhere but the heritage center, which
is still closed, I think. The bishops are on some kind of power trip!
The LDS has filmed the records, and have them safely stored in their vast
granite cave/vault, BUT they do not have the permission of the bishops of
those dioceses to release them for viewing!
I've thought of contacting the parish priest, but I fear the poor guy is
over worked as it is, since he handles 2 parishes (Kildimo & Pallaskenry).
So, I keep putting it off, hoping to get over there myself in the next few
years <g>
Hope this helps explain the 'mess' with Limerick,
Maureen
in rather cold New Jersey (7C with wind chill of 3C and snow flurries about
50 miles north of here!)
