If Grean Parish is in the Archdiocese of Cashel-Emly, then the Catholic records are available from Tipperary Family History Research, www.tfhr.org. A fee is charged, but they can often put together the marriage and the subsequent births, all in one report. (The records are for baptisms & marriages). I've received many reports from them, which have been invaluable in my own research.
It is helpful to find out the "nickname" of your branch of Ryans, which locals might know. For example, I learned that my Ryan nickname is droichead (bridge). so oldtimers know where the Ryan-droicheads lived & are buried (Dromalty townland, Cappamore Parish).

I signed on to this list today. After spending a year on German
genealogy, I felt it was time to give the Irish side of me a chance.
My direct ancestors are Ryans. In reviewing family notes, I discovered
that "Mr. Mathew Ryan died of old age on Saturday, September 8, 1855
Seat of Parish of Grean Limerick Co., Ireland." That's the information
I have. (By the way -- I took the liberty to change the spelling they
had for "Green").

In checking out the internet resources, it looks as if the Catholic
Church records for Limerick are currently unavailable. As a total
Irish newbie, I'd appreciate some advice on where to start.

Thank you.
