It might be that the Geoghan group collected the
information from its members. Insofar as Limerick city and
county is concerned. Yes, researchers in Dublin can access
the parish records at the National Libary.
BUT, if one's family came, as mine did, from parishes in
the eastern part of the county located in the jurisdiction
of the Diocese of Cashel & Emly, then the ONLY sources
would be Limerick Ancestry (when it was operating) or the
Tipperary Family History Research, The Excel Heritage
Centre, Mitchell Street, Tipperary Town , Co.Tipperary,
Republic of Ireland.
The filmed parish records of the Diocese of Cashel & Emly
in the National Library are closed to public research;
hence the Excel Heritage Centre.
