'Half-cousins" : Is, I understand, where there are, or was blood
relationship through a step-son or a daughter of, say, an aunt or an uncle.
Full blood relationship is classified as a 1st.cousin, 1st. cousin, once
removed, twice removed, etc. The same rule applies to 2nd and 3rd cousins.
One will find the rules of consanguinity on the Internet. Look at
http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/04264a.htm for the Church's position on its
impediments as to marriages.
