Mary and Gerri: You may want to compare notes as you're both researching
Hughes, and Ohill and Clontumpher are adjacent townlands.

I'll check documents to see what I have on Hughes in Ohill and Clontumpher,
as well as Doherty.

Researching DOHERTY family from Clontumpher, Co.Longford.

Great Grand father THOMAS DOHERTY married MARY HUGHES about 1893.
he had been married in the USA but his wife and child died and he returned
to Longford.
He had emigrated to USA with his parents and siblings. Parents were
homesick also I believe and he returned with them.
I seek info about his parents and siblings

Hello Mike,

Bridget Hughes of Ohill was the first wife of Patrick Mahon. I don't have
dates for Bridget but Patrick was born 1825 and one of their children was
born 1846. Bridget had at least one sibling named John Hughes. Any thing
you can offer would be great.
