Hi there,
I have a copy of Alumni Dublineses on microfilm at my Family History Center.
The subtitle is: A register of the Students, Graduates, Professors, and
Provosts of Trinity College, in the University of Dublin.
If you have someone you think or know went to Trinity College I will look for
him. Keep in mind these are mostly going to be Anglican and mostly Upper Crust.
You can mainly learn the father of the person. You could look for a brother who
became a Churchman for instance. It doesn't have to be your own ancestor. I got
it to look up a brother.
An example entry:
DELANY, Edmund, Pen. (Mr. Scraggs),
Oct. 16 1820, aged 14; R.C. s. of William, Generosus; b. Tipperary .B.A. Vern.
1825 M.A. Nov. 1832.
I looked up Generosus and found it means nobility. My ancestor's brother had
Colonus next to his name which I found means farmer.
I will post any hits to the list so they will be in our list archives.
Send requests to me at:
