County Louth has an excellent library. I always deal with the Drogheda Library but you can contact the Dundalk Main Branch at:

I believe the library has a complete set of all the historical journals and you can ask them to copy articles.

Also Thaddeus Breen has a great website and it lists the Archaelogical Historical Journals of Ireland
It also lists the contents of the journals. You can browse through the list and see what articles they have. I really get a lot of use out of this site for my research.

I checked the Tombstone Inscriptions of County Louth Vol 1 by Brendan Hall and did not locate any Hodgetts in the Drogheda Cemetery, so you will need the Old Drogheda Society Journal.

Subject: [LOUTH] HODGETTS in St. Peter's, Drogheda Monumental Inscriptions


I am hoping that someone can help me. I sent off to the Old Drogheda
Society for Journal No. 8 which included the monumental inscriptions of
St. Peter's, Drogheda, only to receive email that it is out of print and
I was given no hope that it would come back into print. I am hoping
that someone has a copy of it and could possibly look up the names that
I am after. There should be at least 2 inscriptions for HODGETTS. One
should be Mary who died in Nov. 1847 and her son John who died in Jan.
1848. I would be so grateful if someone could look these up for me as I
have no idea where else I could obtain them.
