John Ruddy born about 1865 in New Jersey was married to Bridget Nolan, sometime prior to 1890 I would assume. Bridget Nolan was born in Ireland but I believe her parents were also living in North Jersey. John Ruddy and Bridget Nolan had four daughters and one son (Denis) my uncle bron about 1892. These five children were given up for adoption sometime after 1900, as this family appears in Middlesex Co, Woodbridge Township in 1900 by 1910 the children are living with a family in Egg Harbor NJ under the name Hess.
I did find a Bridget Ruddy listed at the NJ State Hospital (Morris Co.) in 1900 as a patient, can't be sure if this is John's wife. Something had to happen for both John and Bridget to disappear from the census in 1910 and the children to be adopted out. I believe John's parrents were
Patrick and Mary listed born in Ireland and living in Paterson NJ in 1870 with the following children: Jeremiah, Mary, John Thomas and Patrick.
Since Dennis Ruddy Hess was an Uncle by marriage to my fathers sister I am not all that familiar with the Ruddy's, but I have managed to gather a great deal of insight into their family in New Jersey thanks to my uncles grand daughter.
