I'm still in search of any information of my DEAN family. I have a hunch they were from Co. Mayo mainly because they named their farm the Bellmullet Farm. Also, found in Griffith's Valuation is the following:

Dean, Bryan
County : Mayo
Parish : Kilmore
Location : Termon

Termon 1,033 Mayo Erris Kilmore Belmullet Connaught

The story goes like this. Thomas Dean b. abt. 1820 in Ireland. Married Bridget Monahan and they had 2 sons in Ireland, Bryan b. 1851 and Patrick b. 1853. The family came to the US abt. 1860 to Erin Prairie, Wisconsin. Patrick died as a child and after Bryan was married, his mother Bridget left and supposedly returned to Ireland, never to be heard from or spoke of again.

I would really like to find a connection for this DEAN family in Ireland. I am thinking there may be a connection to the Bryan DEAN in the Griffiths Valuation as the family followed the practice of naming the eldest son after the father's father.

I would also like to find out what ever happened to Bridget "Monahan" DEAN. Did she return to Ireland? I know it's a reach, but if anyone has any ideas for me to look into I sure could use some help. I've been working on this family for many many years and am absolutely against the proverbial "brick wall".

thanks for any help
Pat
