Jean,
Are you sure Martin Brogan's parents were John Brogan
and Bridget Brogan and he was born in Mayo ca 1890?

I searched the 1901 census for Martin Brogan b 1890
since he would have been about 11 when the census was
done in 1901 but didn't find a Martin with parents
John and Bridget Brogan. I did find an 11 year old
Martin in Ballyknock but the mother is Mary, a widow:

Ballyknock Addergoole Tirawley Mayo Household Brogan
Mary(40) farmer/widow
James(20)-Mary(17)-Anne(15)-Martin(11)

I also searched the 1901 Mayo census for Mary Agnes
Thornton b 1891 with parents John and Bridget Thornton
and found the following Mary age 12 in Westland:

Westland Ballyhean Carra Mayo Household Thornton
John(50) farmer
Bridget(34)-Thomas(9)-Michael(7)-Francis(5)-Bridget(14)-Mary(12)-Annie(3)-Anthony(56)
brother/farmer/not married

Was your Mary Agnes born in Westland, Mayo?

I searched the 1901 Mayo census at:
http://www.leitrim-roscommon.com/1901census/census.shtml

If you don't have the civil birth certs for them, you
may want to order them from the General Register
Office http://www.groireland.ie to confirm their birth
locations and parents names.

You can order Martin and Mary Agnes daughter, Nora's
civl birth record from the General Register Office
also to confirm where she was born in County Mayo.
http://www.groireland.ie You have her approximate date
of birth, parents names and where you think she was
born.

The Indexes of Irish Civil Registrtations Records are
microfilmed and available on order through LDS. If
you want to verify Nora's date of birth, you can order
the LDS microfilms to search them in date order for
her birth entry. With the index entry from the
microfilms, you can order the actual birth cert from
the General Register Office.

You can search the Index of Irish Civil Registrations
microfilms on order through your nearest LDS Family
History Centre for the marriage record for Joe Joyce
and Nora Brogan to see if they were actually married
in Mayo, when and their ages. The civil marriage
record will also give each of their father's names.

You can also order the microfilm copy of the 1911
County Mayo census for Stonepark, Foxford,
Tawnaghmore, Backs, Knockmore and search family
information from that census microfilm.
