Jean,

And as I mentioned in a previous message, you should
get the civil marriage record for Mary's marriage to
Martin Brogan ca 1810, Martin Brogan's civil birth
cert ca 1890 also.

Because your surnames are so common in County Mayo,
it's important to get copies of the actual records for
your family to be sure you have the correct family
line in the correct town or townland.

Also you can search the Index of Irish Civil
Registrations Records microfilms through your nearest
LDS Family History Centre for the birth entries in the
Index for Mary Thornton Brogan and Martin Brogan's
children: Tom, Michael, John, Martin and Nora. And for
the civil marriage entry for Nora Brogan's marriage to
Joe Joyce.

Tom, Michael, John, Martin and Nora Brogan were
probably born in the 19teens since the parents were
married about 1910? If Martin Brogan Jnr is still
alive, he would be probably over 90? Nora's marriage
to Joe Joyce would have been in the 1930's? Those are
the date ranges you'll want to search the Civil
Registrations Index Microfilms for in addition to the
ones previously mentioned. LDS have all the Indexes
for births, marriages and deaths through 1958.

Martin's b ca 1890 parents were John and Bridget
Brogan and John's parents were Patrick and Mary
Brogan. I didn't find Martin or his parents in the
1901 County Mayo census. I also searched the 1901
Census for Mayo fro patrick and Mary Brogan but didn't
find them.

If you get Martin's civil birth record and his civil
marriage record you should be able to confirm his
parents names and birth location in Mayo.
