I am trying to confirm that Michael SHANLEY was born in Co Meath, possibly
in the Trim area, about 1849. His parents were Richard and Katherine
(m.n.?) SHANLEY. There is a Richard on the Griffith's valuation in Co
Westmeath, but his is too young to be Michael's father.

Michael married Anna SPENCER, b.c. 1852 possibly Dublin, and they emigrated
to Westchester Co NY about 1866-1870. I searched the civil index of
marriages in Ireland from 1864-1871 and didn't find the marriage listed. I
suppose it's possible they married in Liverpool or some other port city
before they came over or in NY state when they got here. Their oldest
child was born about 1868 in Purdys, Westchester, NY.

ANY help on this family - confirmation of Michael's birthplace, mother's
maiden name and siblings are desperatly needed.
