Hi:

I, also, have no details on Robert or Mary Anne Fegan, however, I am researching Fagans of Co. Westmeath and possibly, Co. Meath. I am not sure if the names are interchangeable, I have seen Fagan spelt as Fagan, Fagen, Fegan or Fegen.

The Fagan family that I am looking for is the LUKE FAGAN family from the Castlepollard area.

My gr.gr. Grandfather, Luke Fagan was born 1898 in the Castlepollard area of Co. Westmeath. He married Elizabeth Halton, dau of William Halton & Anne Maxwell in 1825 in Castlepollard. Luke Fagan and his family emigrated to the USA sometime in the early 1850's settling in NYC. I still do not know the names of Lukes parents or siblings.

Any information you might provide to me would be greatly appreciated.

Best regards,

Betty Lou Garcia

Hi,

Although I have no specific details on Robert or Mary Anne Fegan, I too am
researching Fegans from County Cavan.

My ggrandfather was Michael Fegan, b. 1856 in Co. Cavan, died 23.4.1925. He
was a building contractor. He lived, and is buried, in Ballyjamesduff, Co.
Cavan with his wife Ann (Smith). They had 7 children, one of whom was my
grandmother Mary Fegan.

I have no details, as yet, of Michael's parents, brothers or sisters.

There are a number of Fegan families listed in entries in the 1821 Census
(LDS film no. 0597155) for Co. Cavan.

Incidentally, Drogheda is my home town, although I don't recognise any of
the names you're interested in.

Hello list,

I have not posted my particular research interests for some time so here
goes just in case someone is researching the same line.

My family names of research interest are CATHCART, HOBSON, and FEGAN.

CATHCART family research 1820’s to 1950’s has been around Co Meath, Co
Louth and Co Dublin. ROBERT CATHCART 1793-1873 lived in Drogheda, Co
Louth. I have Roberts History to 1820’s in Drogheda but nothing prior to
this time. His father was John Cathcart.

HOBSON family research to 1750’s in Co Wicklow, Co Louth and Co Armagh.
I am in particular looking for information on Thomas Dudleyard Hobson
married a Mary Morris ?????? Abt 1802 in Co Wicklow. Any information
on THOMAS DUDLEYARD HOBSON. His father was John Hobson. I believe that
John Hobson was a farmer someone around Hackettstown.

FEGAN family from Co Cavan. My great grandmother was MARY ANNE FEGAN.
Married a John Hobson in 1863. Mary Anne’s father was a Robert Fegan,
farmer Co Cavan.

Any information on Robert, Thomas or Mary Anne appreciated.

John Cathcart
New Zealand.
