Looking for information on Keirnan or Kiernan family from County Monaghan
(maybe County Fermanagh)... My great-grandfather, John Swanzy Kiernan, left
Ireland for Canada in 1860-1862, from the Glasslough area, Coolcollid
Townland, Parish of Donagh, County Monaghan. At an earlier time, he had
lived in the Townland of Naghill, Parish of Drumsnat, County Monaghan. He
was a farmer in Drumsnat and a teacher at both Drumsnat and Donagh... He
was Church of Ireland... He was a member of the Orange Order in Glasslough
in 1846.
My enlightened guess, based on the Tithe Applottment records, is that he
came from Annaglogh Townland or Lissnashanah Townland, of Kilmore Parish,
County Monaghan - But I have not been able to verify this...

Also looking for Swanzy and Malcolm/Meaclim from Monaghan (and maybe
Fermanagh)... John Swanzy Kiernan (or Keirnan), Married Mary Malcolm (or
Meaclim or something close) at St. Molua, C.I. Church, Drumsnat Parish in
County Monaghan in 1834 ... Their 10 children were baptized at St. Molua or
at St. Salvator, C.I. Church, in Glasslough...

It is possible (likely) that John's mother's maiden name was Swanzy (maybe
Mary Swanzy)
Probably connected to the Samuel Swanzy family of the
Drumsnat/Kilmore/Clones Parishes and/or the Henry Swanzy family of
Clontibret Parish. Samuel Swanzy, Barrister, who may be my GGG Grandfather,
is listed as being from Swanville (where is Swanville ???). Samuel Swanzy is
also listed as being from Tullycorbet Parish and from County Armagh ???

Thanks

Dick Kiernan
