Hi Diane,

The following may be a brother, son, or other relative to
your Thomas Cleary. It is taken from "Land Owners in
Ireland in 1876" book listing anyone owning 1 acre or more
of land by county. In King's County (Offaly) is the
following:

Cleary, Joseph, (home address) Shranure, Cloneygowan,
Portarlington, owned 69 acres, valued at 36 pounds 10
shillings.

Cleary, Michael, Ballindaraa, Parsonstown, owned 8 acres,
valued at 7 pounds, 10 shillings.

It's not much, but it may give you a starting point. Good
