The Irish Palatine Association has the goal of furthering the
scholarship and appreciation of Irish Palatine history, no matter how
or whether people are related to them by blood; I would hope all
would be welcome to participate in these events and that all members
of the IPA would be allowed to go on any group-organized trip(s).
Some of the key scholars should be invited guests! And since some
Palatines came directly from Germany (via Rotterdam and England in
some cases) to the New World in the same overall migration, it would
be interesting also in those countries to make a point of having a
joint celebration. Other Palatine organizations may be already
planning such, and it would at least be good to make sure we stay in
contact with them as 2009 approaches.

The simultaneous gatherings mentioned could occur during the main
gathering in Ireland.

This is starting to sound rather involved; but a tercentennary
(tricentennial?) happens only once...

Here's a really wild idea- I wonder if we could get Rick Steves
interested to follow our itinerary and do one of his shows on it?

Hank Jones could be an invited celebrity guest for the US palatine
gathering, and the Canadians of course may with luck convince cousin
Laureen to let us meet at the Prime Minister's residence.
