Many thanks - sadly couldn't find Mary Kelly but what a brilliant site - did find some other Kelly's who may be connected though.

Hi,
Can anyone tell me where is the best place to look for any birth/marriage
records for parish of Easky? I am looking for the birth of Mary Kelly
born Easky approximately 1825/1830. She was married some time late 1840's
early 1850's to a Peter Hasty (born Galway 1825). I have not been able to
find any record of their marriage anywhere in England where they are
living by 1861. I have lots of information about them once they get to
England but nothing prior to this I do not have any other details. Any
help/ideas would be much appreciated.

Searching for information on ancestor:
LEIGHTON, Joseph Alexander born c1806 at Killoran parish, Sligo. Became a
school teacher and married JENKINS, Mary at Sligo c1827?.
It is believed that the family attended C of I at Rathbarran in the parish
of Killoran and that burials of Leighton/Jenkins would have taken place in
the graveyard nearby.
Your assistance and or advice is very much appreciated.

Townland of Doogary,Parish of Islandeady,County Mayo a-Thomas M'Tigue,
Earl of Lucan, Land House Office b-Ann Murray same
Land House Office c-Thomas M'Daniel, same Land House Office d-Micheal
Murray, same, Land and House e-Martin Murray, same,Land and House F-Mhl.
Murray(laborer) THomas M'Tigue and Partners, House Between all of them 901
Acres, 0 Rods and 16 perches, all of them are assesed at 5pounds except
Mhl, who's assesed at 4/18 So here's the question, I understood that the a
in front meant the occuping house, does Ann Murray live there too? is she
a wife or a sister in law? or do they live in another Townland and only
work there? Do each of these Murrays have houses there or are they all
living together? Do the Murray and M'Daniel pay thier rents to M'Tigue to
pay to the Earl. Mhl Murray is a laborer for the Thomas M'Tigue and
Partners, are the partners Martin,Ann, and Michael? The houses that talk
about, these could just be shepard stalls right, or is that what office
means. There are no ther locations mentioned, could the Murrays just be
renting land and live in another Townland, Graffa Beg for example, the
house of James Murray. I thought when a woman married she'd be married in
her church and then go to live in his Townland. If Ann Murray lived in
the Parish of Aglish, worked in the Parish of Islandeady, married someone
from Islandeady, she'd be married in Aglish Right? OK I'm giving myself a
head ache Thanks in advance Pat Barry

Jo,
Where in England did your family settle?
Some of the English census records show where people were born. Give it a
try. Mary

Nova Scotia Vital Records Now Online
Nova Scotia kept provincial-wide vital records between 1864 and 1877, then
started again in 1908 and continues to the present. The 1864-1877 records
have been available on microfilm for years from Nova Scotia Archives and
Records Management (NSARM) and the Family History Library. NSARM has been
working for years on digitizing the provincial vital records, and
previewed their website last fall at the FGS/NEHGS conference in Boston.
Their long-anticipated website, www.NovaScotiaGenealogy.com, launched
yesterday. In addition to the records long available on microfilm, they
have added a great deal of previously-unreleased data. The website
contains birth, marriage, and death records for the period 1864-1877. The
marriages records from 1878 to 1930 are now available on the website, as
well as death records from 1908 to 1955. (Marriages were the only record
to be registered province-wide after 1877.)
