Jeanne,
There are both civil and RC parishes of Dunkerrin in Co. Offaly (where the
small town/village of Dunkerrin is located), but the adjacent portion of N.
Tipperary has only an RC parish of that name.
In Tipperary, the RC parish of Dunkerrin appears to have identical borders to
the combined civil parishes of Cullenwaine and Rathnaveoge (there's a name
for that "identical borders" thing, but my age will no longer allow me to
quickly extract it from the appropriate area of my brain <gr>. I don't think
coterminous would apply.). This part of N. Tipp. lies to the SE of the N 7 road
going through Toomyvara, Moneygall, and Dunkerrin to Roscrea. The RC parish area
is averagely two miles wide, and extends along the border with Offaly from
about Moneygall town up to within a couple of miles of Roscrea town.
I'll think of that word soon.......
