Girls win 120 years on.
Pensioner Marie Nicholson has successfully challenged her great-grandfathers
will-120 years after his death.
And now the daughters of Irish emigrants to Canada's Prince Edward Island
can benefit from an educational endowment fund he set up.
Wealthy Eoin Connelly decreed the fund should "Educate and assist to educate
poor children, who are the sons of Irish fathers". Marie, aged 73, thought
the will discriminated against girls and the Island's Supreme Court agreed.
Girls can now get grants of 600 euro.
