Janice,

Milltown is a townland and also an RC parish. Based on Mitchell's RC Parish
maps in his New Genealogical Atlas of Ireland, the RC parish of Milltown
includes the civil parishes of Ballymorin, Kilmacnevan and Rathconrath. There are
approx. 60 townlands in those 3 civil parishes. The only place that might be
called a town today, is Rathconrath.

The best way to get a listing of the townlands in Milltown RC parish would be
to go to the www.seanruad.com website and make the following entries: Leave
the townland box blank, put Westmeath in the county and one of the three civil
parish names (above) in the civil parish box and start the search engine.
This will give you a list of the townlands in that particular civil parish. Do
the same for the other two parishes, and you'll have all of them. If
Mitchell's map is correct, those will constitute the list of the townlands for
Milltown RC parish. By the way, Mitchell states "The maps included show the
locations of Roman Catholic parishes by the middle years of the 19th century." So
they should be reasonable close to the time period you want.
