I am researching my great grandparents who were from Westmeath. Thomas
CARROLL married Anne DUNNE in the Church of the Assumption in the parish of
Taghmon, Mullingar in 1844. Witnesses were Phil Durick and Bessy Pointin. Their
two oldest children were baptized there also. Sponsor names beside Dunne were
Tom Mulligan and Elizabeth Nally. Unfortunately, no townland was listed. I am
so fortunate to have found where my g grandparents were married and would
love to know where they were actually from. The Carrolls might have been from
Fennor and I have found some listed in the Griffiths Valuation but I have no
way of knowing if we are connected. Does anyone know about the townland of
Fennor? Does anyone know of Carrolls or Dunnes from the Mullingar area? Do
any of the names of the witnesses sound familiar? Any help would be greatly
appreciated.
Thanks
Susan in CT
