I am just learning the meanings of terms used in Gene search and found the birth of the following and want to know the difference between a CIVIL birth registration and other.

BRIDGET O'NEIL b. 17th Nov, Birth, Civil, Ireland
Parents Thomas O'Neill and Barbara Osheaghnesay

Also is Barbara's family name spelt correctly, seems rather long.
