I sent a message to the list several months ago regarding the name Carty and made contact with other descendants of the family in Australia, this is good, but I would love to hear from some of the line that remained in Ireland. My interest is in Michael Carty b 1806 Ballymure(?) Wicklow. m Margaret Norton b 1818 and left aboard "Thomas Laurie" 1839 for Van Diemens Land(Tasmania). If anyone over there can connect with their ancestry I have much of their life in Australia to share.
