Now that I read over the message I posted, it does not appear clear even to
me of what I wanted to find out. My indent was to verify if the 1781 Hugh
IRWIN's wife was named Jane SIMONS or Jane HARDING as I have seen posted before. It
could be that he was married to both, but the 1895 article indicates he was
married to Jane Simons.
Searching;
CHANDLER from Spokane, WA & CA .
GILSON from PA.,Ohio, Indiana, MO, NE & CA .
IRWIN & REEVES from PA., Meigs Co.Ohio & Fremont Co.Iowa.

I remember that there was another William Irwin from Iowa, somewhat older
than mine, who was an officer in the Civil War. You might want to check
this out - I have come across quite a few mentions of him.
