I believe that, even in the UK, one can order and download Parsons
products without the hastle (and expense) of ordering them by mail or
calling Parsons on the phone. Last weekend I upgraded to Family
Origins 6.0 online, and without phoning Parsons once.

Go to their web site, and navigate to the Family Origins
product section at http://www.parsonstech.com/software/famorig.html

On the left of the page you will notice a bright yellow diamond
titled "The Download Zone" Click there and it will take you to their
download page. Select option 1 which will take you to a selection
list from which you can select Family Origins 6.0. From there you
navigate through a few pages of information entry, name address etc.
and finally enter a credit card number and a password of your choice.
You will then be given access to their download area where you enter
your password and get the zip file.

The credit card entry is secure. I think it uses the old encryption,
not the new 32 bit stuff that you may not be able to get in the UK
yet. If it doesn't work, try emailing their list server that was
posted a couple of messages back.
