I wish I knew.
My Matthews info is very limited but I have found my Richard and Ann in 1881
in Kingston upon Thames. My Richard's father is reported to have been a
singer in the choir...somewhere....smuggled between Wales and France, drank
a lot and died in a home for uncurable alcoholics in London.....don't know
his name. Richards mother died of small pox when he was 14. He came home and
found her body and ran away. All of this is family story stuff but it is
true that Richard was dead against drinking for any reason.
Let me know if you ever find a lead to this.....Richard and Anne had 11
children....what are some later names?
All the best from rainy Courtaney, Vancouver Island.
Jen
