Good evening,
Does anyone know anything about this cottage? Charles TAYLOR and wife
Charlotte (nee DOWNER), were living in Moncks Cottage, Moncks Lane,
Freshwater in 1881. On a visit to relatives in Cranmore today, we went down
Moncks Lane and saw Moncks Farm, where we think the cottage may well have
been/is. We also found a house in Heathfield Road, called Heathfield, where
CHIVERTON relatives were living in 1881.
Also spent a while studying graves in Freshwater Churchyard. Found a few,
but none we were sure were ours. However, it was interesting. It wasn't
sociable of me to shoot off to Newport to the Record Office, sadly!
I'm sure that all I want to know is at Newport, but in the meantime, if
anyone does have anything they could add, it would be great.
