Greetings from sunny South Australia,

My name is Alan Moore and I am researching the MOORE family that originated in Portsmouth England.

I am seeking any details of the children of (Sir ?) James Bennett MOORE born Portsmouth1788 died in London 21 Feb. 1859.

James Bennett MOORE had a property called 'Percy Lodge', Strand, Ryde IOW. I also ask if any reader can help me with any information on the property, any info. on occupation or family.

I understand 3 or 4 sons and a daughter came to Australia about 1849, but I dont know if they travelled together.

I have some details of Robert Bennett MOORE and James Alexander MOORE, but have no info on the others.

Robert Bennett came to Aust, on the Constant in late 1849. I would like to find out when the others came, particularly James Alexander (my ancestor).

James Alexander MOORE married Mary KELLY. I understand that there is a KELLY family on the IOW about that time, but dont know if there is a connection.

Mary KELLY was born about 1832, got married I don't know where in about 1855, and died in northern South Australia on a sheep property called Coonatta on 19 Aug. 1859.

Can anyone please help to fill in the blanks on the England side. In return I can help with the South Australian details if there is any interest.
