It was a 'gentry' house on the East Bank of the river Medina, in
Whippingham parish, just before you get to Newport. The road into Newport
there is called the Fairlee Road. The house has gone but the site is
where the arboretum is, between the Mountbatten Centre/Medina High School
and Seaclose Park.

Yes the IWRO should be able to supply copies of the Oglander letters
