Thankyou for your help. I will keep a copy of of your note for reference. Your right, the only info I have is my husband and his sister and an imigration form filled out when he came to Canada on the ALBERTIC and he gave his birthplace as Bembridge. My husband and his sister say the Isle of Wight was his birth place. I do have two cards from our archives relating to the Soldiers settlement act, when he was allowed some land in New Brunswick. One is just file numbers from LONDON and the other is one when my mother-in-law took control. I'm going to try the High Commission with them, although they have not been to helpful in the past. Our immigration people say that once they leave England they have no more info. The info stays in England.
