Hi Martin,

I don't know much about magazines but I have a book which one of my sons
bought for me

The Family and Local History Handbook. 7th edition. Priced 9.99. I would
imagine a new edition is due soon.

As well as interesting articles and advice there are sections listing names
and addresses and phone numbers of Family History Societies,
Register Offices, Records Offices, Libraries etc. I am always using it.
I would say it's worth dropping a few hints for Christmas!
