Lorraine
Edward and Hannah are (I think) my 4*Great Grandparents. But there is some
doubt about some of the information I have. But your christening data/place
may be a better fit than what I already have. If your Hannah was christened
at Gatcombe in 1780 then I believe her parents were William Kingswell and
Elizabeth Morrell. Elizabeth was christened 9 Jan 1760 in Godshill.

Edward Barnes was born 5 Nov 1778, christened 22 Jan 1779 in Gatcombe.
Buried at Mount Joy 30 Nov 1860. Edward was the son of Thomas Barnes (c 22
Nov 1733) and Mary Low (1733-1819). Married 1 Jul 1759 at Carisbrooke. Most
of this information was from Brian Cooke, who sent me descendants of William
Barnes back in 2001.

Edward & Hannah seem to have had at least 11 children. The 8th child was
Hannah, born 16 Aug 1818, christened 6 Sep 1818 (Carisbrooke), died 8 Jan
1885. Hannah married William Ryall 13 Nov 1838 in Carisbooke. I have many
details of Hannah and William and their descendants.

The doubt I have with the elder Hannah Kingswell is that there is another
christening 17 Jul 1781 in Yaverland, parents William and Mary. But the
Carisbrooke/Gatcombe connection makes more sense to me than Yaverland.

Let me know if I can help further.
