Hi everyone,
It has been a while since I posted anything, but new info has come to light
and although a bit of a stab in the dark, I decided to post this to see if
anyone has anything on these families.
Firstly, we have a great deal of info on William and Mary (SIMMONDS) WILLIS
who were originally from Wilts and Berks respectively, thanks to Ann
Barrett. We know they infect were on the Isle of Wight from about 1860 to
1875.
Secondly I see that there are a number of KNAPPs on the Isle.
Our new possible info is that Eliza WILLIS, sister to William above, married
an Edwin KNAPP about 1850 in Wiltshire.
In 1851 they are living with William and Eliza's mother Ann (a) MAIL WILLIS,
William and two sisters. They now have a son 1 month old- Frederick KNAPP.
This is in Lea Wiltshire.
By 1871, Edwin and Eliza are still in Lea and have the following children:
Abel, Alfred, Alice, Ann, Edwin, Emma, Fredrick, Phebe and William.
Does anyone have any connection to these KNAPPs?
We are having a first ever family gathering of the WILLIS Family in Canada
in Jul of this year. this encompasses the descendants of William and Mary
and the four brothers who came here in 1875. Would be great to find another
branch.
