Can't help with your Ellen King etc, but the site you are looking for is the
brilliant IWFHS Searchable Registered BMD Index,
http://www.isle-of-wight-fhs.co.uk/ then select "BMD Index In Progress".
When it first went live, marriages did indeed contain complete date, but
sadly this had to be removed at the insistence of the Registrar, but still
gives year and if CE and in many other cases the actual Church, as well as
the names of bride & groom. For births it also gives "other" surname which
is usually, but not always, the mother's maiden surname, very useful in
tracking down siblings (I did look for King but there was no obvious
connection in Calbourne district which included births at
Brixton/Brighstone). A quick look this morning shows that births are now up
to 1910 and deaths to 1912 (marriages have been complete from 1837 to 2000
for a long time). For anyone researching IW family, this site should be at
the top of your Favourites (or is that Favorites) or Bookmarks list.
