Hello

I wonder if anyone can help.

My great grandmother's twin brother, Arthur George DYER, married Agnes Elizabeth BRENNEN 21st Dec 1883.

They had a son Arthur George in the March qtr 1884 who died age 9 weeks also in March qtr 1884.

Since the marriage I can find nothing on Arthur George DYER who was 20 in Dec 1883. (There is a death of Arthur George DYER age 18 in March 1884 in Bradford, could this be him, or am I clutching at straws??)

There is an Agnes DYER on the 1891 born Canada, at Mill St, Newport with son Walter age 4 and again in 1901 the same Agnes DYER (born Canada) with son Walter living at Forest Side, Carisbrooke.

So I checked the 1881 census to see if there was an Agnes BRENNEN (her maiden name) also born in Canada. And there was, a servant in Brading.

So I thought that she must be mine with husband missing on all the census.

However I received Walter Henry DYER's birth certificate today along with his marriage in 1912.

His birth cert states he was born 20th April 1886 at Forest Side Carisbrooke, his mother Agnes DYER no maiden name and no father given.

His marriage states father James DYER (deceased)

I can't work out if I have the right family or not.

When Agnes married Arthur George in Dec 1883 she was also living at Forest Side, Carisbrooke. Is this just a coincidence? I would have thought she would still have been at Forest Side, Carisbrooke in 1891 if Walter was born there in 1886 and then they were there in 1901!!

Anyone any ideas??

Regards

Ally
