Hello, all

I've posted several questions for Giovanni that directly relate to doing our
family history. One concerns the Catasti - records one rarely hears about.
And it may be that they're of little value to us or were only needed for the
wealthy, etc. It's good information for us to know.

Also, there are 2 offices in the Itaian comune and I've heard conflicting
things about them. The office of the Stato Civile and the Ufficio
d'Anagrafe.
A genealogist friend in Italy tells me the second one only maintains records
"of the living" but others here have said they've requested Stato Civile
records from the U d'A. ((go figure))

And then there are the boundaries of Caserta itself, which changed after the
Unification.

I hope these will help all of us, they'll certainly straighten out a lot of
puzzles in my mind.
Thank you all
Loretta
