I have been on this list serve for several months now, just watching and
reading. It is very interesting! I would love to learn more about this DNA
project. Is there a website? My paternal side is the Bonacquisti family
from Castro dei Volsci, Frosinone. I can trace my paternal roots back to
1800 to my great X4 grandfather, Giovanni Battista Bonacquisti whose son was
Dominco Bonacquisti whose son was Giovanni Battista Bonacquisti whose son
was Dominco Bonacquisti. The last Dominico was my great-grandfather who
came over to the United States at the begining of the 1900s. His eighth
child was Umberto (Robert) Octavius Bonacquisti, whose son is my father,
Robert Octavius Bonacquisti. After first arrival to the states, Dominco
changed the family name to Bonacquista (with an "a" on the end rather than
an "i" to Americanize the name. My grandfather was one of the siblings who
changed the last name back to Bonacquisti in 1950s or 1960s, so there are
some Bonacquista's out there as well.
